Madd Hair
Our first and still one of our favourite projects. This hairdressing salon in Melbourne, Victoria netted us the runner-up position in the Retail Category for the (inside) Australian Design Review, idea06 Awards.
We worked with some of Melbourne's premier street artists and balanced their free-flowing graffiti with geometry, colour, light and shade.
swoon also created the logo and worked on promotional items.

A complete brand re-invention and store upgrade was required for this existing long-term corner site retailer.
A restrained and mature materials palette of dark timber and white stone was selected, allowing for newly developed vibrant and energetic signage to come to the fore.
This engages both parents and children alike.

The brief for this tea merchant was to create a retail interior that would attract and inspire shoppers. This was achieved by a whirlwind of colourful graphic imagery applied to floor and walls of the tenancy.
Based on traditional floral patterns, these elements were combined with authentic Chinese geometric screens.
Curtin University Student Guild store The Spot is a 'one stop shop' for servicing student needs. Selling everything from stationery and magazines to mobile phones and snack foods, as well as being an information hub for public transport and telecommunications services. swoon design was involved in the difficult task of suitably zoning products as well as applying the new branding elements across the entire store.

An upgrade to Rockingham Shopping Centre meant the relocation of an existing long-term retailer.
The interior uses elements of timber and stone to reflect the natural product for sale while the colour palette is light and airy with the newly created brand identity applied throughout the tenancy.
